Analysis of the Governor's Vetoes & What They Mean for Programs Across Illinois (FY2008)

Under the Illinois Constitution, the Governor has the veto authority to reduce a portion of or completely eliminate an appropriation made to fund a particular program or service. Through this authority, Governor Blagojevich reduced the FY2008 budget by $470 million. The Report provides an analysis of those budget reductions, and the Fact Sheets provide detailed information on the vetoes.
