School Funding in the Spotlight

State Rep. Stephanie Kifowit (D-Oswego) hosted an education funding seminar with guest presenter Ralph Martire, executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability, on Jan. 23.

The event began at 6:30 p.m. at Wheatlands Elementary School at 2290 Barrington Drive West in Aurora.

“After years of inadequate funding, the new funding formula was a step in the right direction towards properly funding our schools,” said Kifowit in a press release about the event. “However, there still is a lot more that needs to be done.”

Ralph Martire led the presentation on the new school funding law.
